4. Using How to Use Your Reading in Your Essays on your course

HURE has been written primarily as a resource for self-study and use but the book can also be used to as part of a course. Below is an example of how the HURE sections could be divided to sit alongside either a 12-week course or over a whole academic year.

12 weeks (one semester)

Teaching week

Section that could be wholly or partially covered in a seminar or lecture.

Students could be asked to read the relevant section beforehand so that they can discuss and complete the ‘Over to You’ activities in pairs/groups during the seminar.
