Welcome to the Companion Website for INFORMED ADOLESCENCE, by Heidi J. Sproull, LMSW, CST.
INFORMED ADOLESCENCE® is a fully scripted and researched curriculum for teachers and other leaders of 5th through 8th grade students. With lessons on teen resilience, sexual health, and boundary setting and personal safety, this curriculum meets adolescents where they are with the fact-based honest information they need to safely and successfully navigate our increasingly fast-paced world. The curriculum supports teen resilience through social and emotional skills; sexual health through developmentally tailored reproductive information and consent-focused context for sexual thoughts and feelings; and boundary setting through self-trust, risk mitigation, and practical skills for personal safety.
For Teachers
The building blocks of the INFORMED ADOLESCENCE™ curriculum are MODULES which are carefully designed for inclusiveness and intersectional awareness in every lesson. Each module includes explanatory text and content, as well as italicized scripts for suggested language teachers can use in delivering this content to their students. Each module begins with learning objectives and challenging content guidance, and ends with a review of key concepts, a quiz, and a quiz answer key. Some modules also include lists, diagrams, discussion prompts, and artwork.
Included here as companion materials for teachers are the following – all easily downloadable and printable for easy distribution to students:
Teachers are invited to visit the curriculum website at www.informedadolescence.com to engage with Heidi directly regarding support and/or consulting regarding implementing INFORMED ADOLESCENCE® at your school.
