A

analysis of variance (ANOVA) - Used to compare means among groups; most commonly used when there are three or more groups.

between groups sum of squares - A measure of how much variation there is between groups; used in analysis of variance.

post-hoc test - A follow-up test conducted after obtaining results from another analysis, such as analysis of variance. In analysis of variance, a post-hoc test investigates which differences between groups are statistically significant. One post-hoc test is Tukey’s test.


T

Tukey’s post-hoc test - A test used after a statistically significant result for an analysis of variance to determine which group means are significantly different from each other.
