World Building in Spanish and English Spoken Narratives by Jane Lugea
This book, World-Building in Spanish and English Narratives, uses Text World Theory (TWT) to analyse and compare narrative styles in spoken Spanish and English. In her fieldwork, Lugea used a picture book to elicit 48 versions of the same story (24 Spanish speakers and 24 English speakers). A software called Visual Understanding Environment (VUE) was then used to create a TW diagram of each of the 48 stories. These 48 VUE files are included for download here, including the multi-dimensional story diagram and associated multimedia (e.g. the recording of the spoken narrative). To be able to view the files, users can download VUE for free from the Tufts website.
