Component 22: Imperial Image

Imperial Image looks at the art, artefacts and literature of Augustan Rome to see how one man (Augustus) was able to transform the Roman Empire from a more or less democratic republic into a principate, ruled by one man: himself.

This module will be of particular interest to students interested in art and literature, political intrigue and scandal, marketing and the organisation of popular opinion.
