A thematic approach to Greek sculpture that considers the social significance of art in ancient Greece as well as its development over time.

Stewart, A. (1993) Greek Sculpture: Exploration. New Haven: Yale University Press.
A very thorough and detailed two-volume study of Greek Sculpture. The plates volume has excellent pictures and the text volume includes many ancient sources as well as detailed analysis. A very useful reference book.

A very useful and readable account of Greek art.
