Q

quantifier

Quantifiers are determiners that give information about the quantity of the head noun in the NP, be it in terms of number (for countables in the plural: (a) few studentsmany votes, some reservations, both childrenall employees, each year, every customer) or amount (for uncountables(a) little patience, a lot of money, some information, any food, (not) much time). Many quantifiers can also be used as pronouns (He gave me someI don’t want any). The terms indefinite determiner and indefinite pronoun are sometimes used to refer to quantifiers. (AEG Ch. 3)
